I’ve been working on creating my first blog post for months now! For heaven’s sake, it’s time it actually gets written and posted.

I'm excited to try my hand at blogging so that our family and friends can see more of our family in action, even if they live far away and can't visit as often as they'd like. Sometimes I want to share more than what Facebook allows of daily happenings in the Park household.
Hum...already this thing is trickier than I bargained for. My pictures are popping up in odd places in this post and I can't seem to change them. Well, my goodness. :-/
I’ve embarked on a reading adventure this year, starting the first of January. My goal is to read through the entire Bible this year. Wow, it’s been rewarding. I haven’t read this much of the ancient scriptures in many years. Right now I’m in the book of Exodus and I can so relate with how quickly God’s people forget His amazing greatness in their lives. And I’m seeing the same thing in the book of Matthew, too! The multitudes witness an incredible miracle, and then ask Jesus for a sign! Very crazy. It’s because no matter the age we live in, we forget so easily…..and for me, if I write things down, I tend to remember better.

I love to write….not saying that I’m any kind of great writer, but only that I love the challenge of doing it! Writing has been one of my joys since childhood. Expressing my thoughts, ideas and happenings in written form is such an art. It’s a little part of me, Melissa, outside of my roles as mommy, wife and homemaker.
I also think this blog could be a fun way of documenting the amazing things that God is doing in my life and in my home. It’s so easy to get bogged down in the daily grind of diapers, nursings, story time, naps, non-naps, more diapers—you know? Whenever I see my precious family in pictures on Facebook or hung on the walls in my home, I tend to forget the trials of the day and instead I think about how precious my life is, how much I have to be thankful for....how many dreams have become realities, and prayers answered. It's helpful for me to shift my focus--to lift my eyes above all the laundry and the toils of the day and actually take in the sights. :-)

And I love to sew. Writing and sewing have been two of my favorite past times over the last twenty years. I'm excited and looking forward to combining these two arts in this blog--I can write about and share pictures of my current creations, in the making and the finished product--yeah! :-)
I saw your blog posted in the etsy capsteam - so I joined - looking forward to future posts.
