While Mommy is Sewing.....

One of my passions is sewing. I simply love to create something gorgeous with my hands. Lately, with my two little ones filling up my world with joys, giggles and tears, there really hasn't been much sewing happening! Or blogging, for that matter. :-)

But hey, seasons come and seasons go....I'm realizing that more and more with my mothering. One day can be absolutely calm and enjoyable, while the following two days can be totally crazy and worth crying over. And it can change month to month, too. Right when I start to think I have something down......or, that it just can't get any worse.....it changes. It's awesome and frustrating! :-)

But yes--I've been finding a little time here and there to sew these days, and it's been such a joy and very refreshing. On good days, Elizabeth will play around me, spreading fabric alllllll over the room, or scattering George's toys from one corner to the next. I'm thrilled 'cause it can always be cleaned up without too much fuss. But on bad days, well.....the little one doesn't want his toys and chooses to fuss, and the slightly larger one has no interest in mommy's fabric, but would rather cling to mommy's legs and reach little fingers up to punch the buttons on mommy's very, very special sewing machine. Oh, boy.....needless to say, sewing time is cut quite short on those days. ;-)

I've been really enjoying making things lately the correlate with where I'm at in life, and right now, it's lots of baby and toddlerness (yes, I like making up my own words sometimes!), which involves swaddling blankets, bibs, and even bigger bibs, and hand-stitched wool dolls....and an Easter dress for my girl.
Okay, my littlest one is calling my name--must go. There's so much I think of sharing, but since it's taken me about 3 weeks to simply get this post together, I'd better just post it! Or it will never be seen. :-) Lots of love and hugs and laughs from the Park house!

At Home with Bubbles and Artisan Bread

We've spent a lot of time at home the past couple of weeks due to coughs and colds. Well, to be fair, we've been home a lot the past couple of months! :-) I stand amazed and inspired by all you moms of more than two, and how in the world you ever leave the house! With nursing and nap times and possible car sickness in or more child.....my goodness. But it's getting better for us. I think George is finally moving to just two naps a day, with an early bed time, and Elizabeth is taking her one nap a day at a more predictable time each day. These changes sure help make life a little more manageable! Here are a few things we do with our days when we're at home...... We blow bubbles... We do laundry...... We hang out..... We try on hats..... We attempt to step outside...at least once in a day, just to make sure the sun is still shining, of course. Someone's gotta do it. :-) We bake bread..... I got one of the coolest books for Christmas, it's titled Artisan Bread in...

In the Wilderness

There.  I've actually done it.  After 8 months, I've added another post! :-)   This song by Michael Card has been in my thoughts...it's one from my childhood, actually.  It's been an encouragement and a blessing to me over the years, though, it got a bit forgotten until just recently.  A sweet reminder of God's constant working in my life.  May it bless you, too, wherever you are at in life's journey.  You can look it up on Utube and actually hear it....it's done very well. In the wilderness In the wilderness He calls His sons and daughters To the wilderness But He gives grace sufficient To survive any test And that's the painful purpose Of the wilderness In the wilderness we wander In the wilderness we weep In the wasteland of our wanting Where the darkness seems so deep We search for the beginning For an exodus to hold We find that those who follow Him Must often walk alone In the wilderness In the wilderness He calls His sons and daughters To...
